Web Content Director
Bari Finkel; I am a sophomore at Indiana University majoring in Jewish Studies and Journalism. Although I technically reside in an apartment, I mostly live at the WIUX Station House (aka “The Mansion”). I love listening to and writing about music, especially while eating chocolate chip cookies. I am no artist, but I do have a knack for doodling manatees with monocles and top hats. As the famous saying goes, “Anything with a top hat and monocle is instantly cuter.”
Assistant Head Editors
Emily Farra; I am a junior majoring in Journalism & Art History. I love discovering/writing about new music, bargain-hunting, reading fashion magazines from back to front, wearing too many bracelets, watching Food Network for five hours straight, and finding the biggest sunglasses in the store. After college, I’m planning on moving to New York City or Chicago in the hopes of breaking into the magazine industry.
Ross Stoppel; Ross Stoppel; I am a junior majoring in Sociology and Telecommunications. My talents include rabble-rousing, nonsensical wordplay, and being a stickler for correct grammar and spelling in writing. I also enjoy video games, love corgis, and can make a mean grilled cheese. Did I mention I love corgis?

Nico Thomas, writer; I’m a punk-metal-surf-grunge-doo wop-folk enthusiast who indulges occasionally in funk-jazz-blues-new wave-psychobilly. My interests are taking long walks off short piers, waiting all year round for Halloween to come back, and reading Bukowski in raging dive bars. I’m a highly inspired musician without the motivation to release anything or play a show. I also happen to be a devout practitioner of Kevin Smithism.Nico writes the weekly column, Mundane Mondays.

Matt Spears, writer; I am a junior majoring in journalism and history. Much to the chagrin of my girlfriend, I am obsessed with sports, following my teams religiously and, often, sadly. I love to write and enjoy being active and out in nature whenever time permits. Also, I co-host a sports show Wednesday mornings from 10-11 a.m., which always welcomes new listeners.
Matt writes the weekly column, Spear’s Spiel.

Ben Ullrich (aka Ullie), writer; I’m a senior at Indiana University studying History. I’m originally from Indianapolis and have an avid love for ’77 Punk, bass guitars, and pictures of cats. If I could describe myself as any alcoholic beverage it would be a shot of Wild Turkey 101 (also known as The Kickin’ Chicken).
Jeff Ubelhor, writer; I’m a senior in the School of Informatics and Computing with a cognate in Communications and Culture. I think therefore I am, therefore I have a show with Nico Thomas at 3AM, where we play some of the better music your ears will be exposed to at that hour (or any hour for that matter). In my free time, I enjoy playing music, singing songs about my current activities to my roommates and watching awful History Channel shows about the latest and greatest apocalypse theories. My money’s on robots causing humanity’s eventual downfall, as I’ve never really trusted computers to begin with.
Jeff writes the weekly column, Through the Swells and Silence.
Kevin Adams, writer; I am a sophomore at IU and love philosophy and music. I enjoy almost all music, especially if it is live. I have a radio show at 5 am on Thursdays and I try to play as much local music that I have seen or heard before.

I’m a Sophomore here at Indiana University majoring in Communication and Culture with a concentration in film studies (and maybe double-majoring in Telecommunications, but for right now, it’s just my minor). Some of my absolute favorite things are as follows: baby dill pickles, movies, cheese, and Michael Crichton. I sweat constantly (Seriously. I think I have a disease), and seriously think I could win Jeopardy.
Sarah writes the weekly column, The Indie Pen Dance.
Adam Martin, writer; I spent most of my formative years doing nothing but playing videogames and reading books. Those are still the two things that I do, but now on occasion I splice listening to music into my rigorous schedule. I also enjoy writing about the things that I enjoy doing while not writing about those things that I enjoy. I hope someday to write about those things for money.
Mitchell Potts, writer; Hey, I’m Mitchell Potts. I’m a 20 year old junior majoring in Sports Communication-Print. I’m from the great and well-known city of Washington, Indiana. When I’m not stealing candy from children or making babies weep, I enjoy the occasional video game, comedy website, tailgate, social network or nap. Someday, I would like to be an air guitarist for an air band.
Mitchell writes the weekly column, The Lovable Loser.
Valerie Cox, writer; Being a sophomore in the School of Journalism, naturally I’m 19 years of age. I have lived in Bloomington all my life (well, besides first grade, when I lived in Virginia). I work for the music, promotions, and web content committees at WIUX. I attend concerts frequently and try my best to meet the musicians. I’m a huge nerd about collecting records and my favorite movie is Friday, starring Ice Cube.
Jay writes the bimonthly column, The Rap Up.
Erin Kilhefner, writer; Hello! I’m Erin Kilhefner and I’m a History/Anthropology student, a dj, a blogger, and a serious bacon lover. I write Jamz and Toast which is a column all about food, music, and my deep love for bacon. If I could cook dinner for any group of people it would be Anthony Bourdain, Dino De Laurentiis, Ron Swanson, and Teddy Roosevelt. Therefore we could all talk about bacon, America, and the state of humanity. And it would be great.
Erin writes the monthly column, Jamz and Toast.

I am currently training her to be the next keyboard cat.

I eat a lot of broccoli, pizza, and macaroni and cheese (homemade, not that box stuff). I play guitar, and attempt to play ukulele, banjo, bass, piano, and melodica with varying levels of success. I only listen to fluorescent buzztone music with doomsday bass lines.
Molly Morgan, writer; I’m currently studying Journalism and Spanish here at IU. I love all varieties of music, especially blues, and my WIUX radio show (Sundays 10-11pm) features all blues music. Josh Zoerner, writer; Black metal, punk, & Sigur Ros. When I’m not talking about music I’m usually found hanging out, covering local shows, or reading comics. I co-host a radio show on Friday evenings from 5-6PM…you should check it out!
Casey Zakin, writer; Casey is a first-year at Indiana University studying audio engineering and minoring in telecommunications; she’s excited that being at the radio station gives her reason to leave the music buildings, which she seldom does. You can find her at the station 4-5 on saturday nights, co-hosting a radio show with a real, native Philadelphian. Casey loves old cars, pretending she can draw, and making dairy-free desserts. If I could travel to any time period, it would most likely be back to the nineties. Smoldering hot summers are the best, and I love small dogs too.
Paul Morris, writer; Paul is a Sophomore at IU, studying English with an emphasis in Creative Writing. Whew, that’s a long title. He listens to mostly indie and alt-rock, but asks us to note that the Avett Brothers serve as his moral compass. He is bold, mysterious, and likes to sing outside.
Matt Lyles, writer; I am a senior double majoring in theatre and journalism. I sometimes feel awkward at this station because I loathe Animal Collective and love Cannibal Corpse. I am here to write about heavy metal, the music I love and what I feel is the real under-represented form of music. When I’m not spinning the best in metal on my show (Metal for the Masses, Saturdays from 10 to midnight) I’m usually performing improv and stand-up comedy with the group Midnight Snack Comedy on the IU campus. I can also be heard on American Student Radio, produced through the IU School of Journalism.
