From the band’s web site
Christopher started Strictly as a side project to a metal band, it kind of just went from there. About 2 years after the band’s inception Lyle joined taking over on drums, providing the first permanent member other than Christopher. The recruiting effort began to start a full ensemble of members, bringing in a close friend Zach to play guitar. Around the same time we met a new friend from the Bloomington area, Andy. “Damn These Robotic Ears,” was then recorded which turned out as a gritty attempt at an independent album. It was released in the Spring of 2009 and it’s available for free to download.
It was around this time things started coming together. Strictly started playing regular shows but there was still something missing. Through mutual friends a young lady by the name of Caitlyn then started joining in and during the Spring of 2009 and we’ve all been a happy family ever since.
While playing shows they had written their first studio release and were ready to record. In June of 2009 Strictly started recording their first studio release, “Blood Red Red Polar Bears.” The album came out on February 19th, 2009.
